Is studying an MBA worth it?

Academic Council

The University is committed to academic governance that incorporates formal and structured input from faculty, staff, and students related to program and institute-wide academic decisions. Academic Council's primary focus is the academic quality of all new and existing programs.

Academic Council is the senior academic body of the university. Among other things, it advises on university academic standards, academic policies, and program approval and review. While business decisions are made by the President in consultation with the Board, the determination that a program meets the academic requirements and standards of the University is that of the Academic Council.

The Academic Council meets monthly, usually on every first Friday of the month (from 1PM to 2:30PM). The meetings take place virtually, via Microsoft Teams. The upcoming meetings will take place on the following dates:

  • July 8, 2022
  • August 5, 2022 [Extraordinary Meeting]
  • September 2, 2022

Meetings are open to the community members; if you would like to attend an AC meeting, please send a note to the Academic Council Secretary at AC.Secretary@ucanwest.ca.

Please find the list below of the most recent AC meeting minutes; please note that the files are PDF files (we recommend downloading them on your local machine and opening them in Adobe Reader).

For minutes of meetings older than 1 year, please contact the Academic Council Secretary at AC.Secretary@ucanwest.ca.
