COVID-19 updates for Winter 2021 Term

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, University Canada West (UCW) has implemented several measures to minimize the stress and challenges students are facing in these uncertain times.

New international students starting their studies in January 2021 have the option to take all their first-term courses online from their home country. Previously, international students without a study permit were only eligible to start a single course online.

UCW updated its refund policy to give new international students the peace of mind to start the Winter 2021 Term online, even if they don’t have a study permit yet.

After paying their deposit, students will be issued a full refund, minus administration fees, if their visa application is denied.

And for those students coming to Vancouver to study, the University has partnered with Air Canada to offer flight discounts for UCW students flying to Canada.

UCW Students can now get 15% off the price of their Air Canada flight by using a promo code.

Students can email [email protected] for the code. The promo code must be used at the time of booking. All flights must be booked directly through Air Canada. Blackout dates and other terms and conditions apply.*

UCW has created a Pre-Arrival Package so students can prepare for their journey to Canada and UCW.

UCW has also compiled a list of isolation resources for incoming students including special accommodation rates for UCW students at various hotels in Vancouver.

UCW’s Student Affairs team will contact students to check on their mental and physical wellbeing, and provide them with online social, wellness and entertainment activities.

This 15% discount is valid for Air Canada international flights to Canada booked on or before December 31, 2020. The travel period is open until March 31, 2021 with blackout periods between December 19-20, 2020 and January 2-3, 2021.
