The Library has print and digital materials, along with equipment such as calculators, phone chargers and iPads available for loan to students, faculty and staff. The resource collection is largely comprised of electronically accessible resources covering an array of subject areas, but concentrating primarily within the disciplines of business, marketing, economics and finance. A small collection of print materials is available for loan at both the West Pender and Vancouver House campus libraries.

Access Science provides introductory materials for science topics and contains more than 8500 articles covering all major scientific disciplines.

Academic Search Ultimate is a multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 10,000 full-text periodicals, including more than 6,500 peer-reviewed journals, as well as other publication types including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full-text titles in native (searchable) PDF format.

ACM Digital Library is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. It delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field’s premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.

Business Source Ultimate provides access to bibliographic and full-text content in the areas of business and management. This database provides full-text access to scholarly, popular and trade journals, as well as indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals back as far as 1886. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, videos, company profiles, SWOT analyses, industry profiles, country reports, market research reports and case studies.

Canadian Business & Current Affairs (CBCA) Database is Canada’s most comprehensive and diverse full-text online database that combines content from three focused databases: CBCA Business, CBCA Education, and CBCA Reference & Current Events. CBCA Database provides high-quality indexing for over 1,800 publications and full text for more than 700. Broad coverage from a Canadian perspective spans agriculture, business and economics, education, government and politics, health sciences, history, literature, medical sciences, social sciences, and many more subject areas.

Canadian Points of view is a database with articles on over 200 topics of interest to Canadian students. Most useful for students is the way the articles are structured, following the given format:

  • Introduction: gives background information, the current research and suggestions for further reading
  • Point: this argues a particular side of the issue (e.g. “Child labour should be allowed sometimes”)
  • Counterpoint: this argues the opposite side (e.g. “Child labour should be not be allowed under any circumstances”)
  • Guide to critical analysis: what should you look for when evaluating resources on this topic.
  • It also includes an online Canadian Oxford English Dictionary

Communication & Mass Media Complete is the most robust, quality research solution in areas related to communication and mass media.
