University Canada West recently doubled the size of its Student Services department to better serve its growing student body.

Rodolfo Motta and Lexi Macdonald have joined the team at UCW.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Rodolfo and Lexi to UCW,” said Lorris Leung, UCW’s Student Services Manager.
“Their experience and expertise are a wonderful fit for the plans and goals we have for our department and our university.”

Rodolfo Motta is a Student and Career Services Support & Events Coordinator. He moved from Brazil two years ago to pursue a post-graduate degree in Marketing Management, which he recently completed.

Rodolfo was an event planner and project assistant at a prominent local post-secondary institution prior to joining UCW.

“I believe that I can help to create a dynamic and motivated environment for staff and students,” he said.

Lexi is a Student Services Support & Events Coordinator.

She moved to Vancouver from South Africa when she was young. Lexi completed her first year of undergraduate studies at Queen’s University and then transferred to UBC to complete a degree in International Relations.

Before joining UCW, Lexi worked for a non-profit in Dublin, Ireland, where she developed services and programs for young people between the ages of 10-25.

Prior to that, she was the Events Coordinator for Best Buddies, a non-profit organization in Vancouver.

“I enjoy working directly with students and being able to support them in any way I can in order to ensure that they have a positive university experience,” Lexi said.

Student Services is in process of rolling out a student ambassador program, boosting engagement with current students and alumni, as well as increasing the variety of social activities for UCW students.

“This is an exciting time for UCW. We’re growing at a record pace, and we need to be sure that Student Services is growing to support our students throughout their academic journey and beyond,” she said.
