Before Your First Day
Welcome to University Canada West! To ensure a smooth transition, we have compiled essential information and resources to help you prepare for your first day. From completing the necessary paperwork to understanding our culture, we want to make sure you feel confident and ready to start your journey with us. Review your first day instructions sent by HR, familiarize yourself with our policies, have a 360° virtual tour of our Vancouver House Campus and explore the support services available to you.

First Day
Your first day is an exciting step in your journey with UCW. On your first day, you will be greeted by a member from HR and introduced to your team. Check your inbox for any important emails from HR or your line manager. We’re here to support you every step of the way and ensure you have a successful start.

HR Orientation
The HR Orientation is held within the first two weeks of your start date. It will take you through the highlights of UCW and information that you, as a new hire should know. These include information on benefits, payroll, vacation, important policies, an overview of our campuses and other useful information for new hires. The orientation is followed by a Campus Tour of our stunning Vancouver House Campus.

Resources
The Employee Handbook is a great resource for any questions you may have regarding your employment at UCW. The UCW Intranet has been set up for different departments and is another useful resource for information related to departments, such as Human Resources, Health & Safety, Marketing & Communications, Information Technology and Campus Operations.
