Academics

The Academic Department at UCW comprises four main pillars of academic support for both faculty and students. All faculty and students can access resources and contact information related to each area by visiting the MyUCW Student Portal.

Academic Operations (AO)

The Academic Operations team supports faculty and Department Chairs with academic administrative processes, procedures and academic policy including final grades, grade changes, grade appeals, course shell updates, learning management system support, onboarding and a variety of training workshops. The team also helps students find the right staff member to discuss student issues, makes referrals for students to other service areas and processes the registration for the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI), which is associated with UCW’s MBA curriculum.

Academic Considerations Office (ACO)

The Academic Consideration Office supports both faculty and students with navigating situations where students are facing short-term extenuating circumstances that are impacting their current academic term progression. This includes support for the Incomplete Course Contract process, Out-of-Time Exams, general academic consideration guidance and recommendations, virtual support meetings, training workshops and outreach to students and faculty. The ACO staff also work in close collaboration with Accessibility Services to support students and faculty with implementing academic accommodation plans.

Academic Integrity Office (AIO)

The Academic Integrity Office maintains and administers Policy 5006, Academic Integrity. The AIO receives and processes all reports of alleged academic misconduct from faculty. Services include resource pages for faculty and students, training workshops, and all communication and tracking related to the operations of the office. The AIO works in collaboration with the Academic Integrity Committee to process and adjudicate cases of alleged academic misconduct and it champions a culture of academic integrity at UCW.
