Vitaly Sergeev is a lifelong learner and strategic HR leader with over 18 years of experience in human resources, organizational development and change management. He has worked across diverse industries, including technology, consumer packaged goods and manufacturing. With a strong background in talent development, workforce planning and executive coaching, Vitaly has played a pivotal role in aligning HR strategy with business objectives to drive high-performance cultures.
His educational background includes a Global Executive MBA from the University of Minnesota. In 2023, he further enhanced his expertise by completing certification programs at York University (Employment Law) and Veritas Solutions (Workplace Investigation) as well as leadership training at Dale Carnegie in 2025.
As a faculty member at University Canada West teaching Talent Management (HRMT622) and Management and Employee Relations (HRMT 625), Vitaly believes that every student has a talent waiting to be discovered. He views the role of a professor as one that helps students unlock their potential and create a sustainable path for their professional development. To achieve this, Vitaly inspires curiosity, fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment, encourages case-based discussions, invites tough conversations and ensures that every student’s voice is heard.
