Vitaly Sergeev is a lifelong learner. His educational background includes a Global Executive MBA acquired at the University of Minnesota, Financial Management at the State University of Management and Jurisprudence at the Military University. In 2023, Vitaly completed several certification programs at York University (Employment Law) and Veritas Solutions (Workplace Investigation).

As a faculty member at University Canada West teaching Talent Management, Vitaly believes every student has a talent waiting to be discovered. He sees the role of a professor as one that helps students understand their potential and creates a sustainable path for further development. To establish this, Vitaly inspires curiosity, creates a safe learning environment, engages students in case discussions, invites tough conversations and ensures that everyone has a voice that is heard.

Expertise and Experience

Vitaly is a Human Resources professional with over 15 years of leadership experience spanning the Automation, IT solutions, Mining and Manufacturing industries. He is a certified coach and trainer specializing in employee engagement, performance management and organizational development. Vitaly has successfully led HR teams supporting global businesses, implementing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.

Vitaly’s experience includes roles as the Area Director of Human Resources at Omya, a Swiss-based global leader in the Calcium Carbonate and Distribution business and as the Human Resources Director for Yokogawa Electric, a Japanese Industrial Automation corporation.
