
Victor Naing
Victor Naing holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Business Management from Singapore Management University. He has also completed executive education in product management at the University of California, Berkeley.
At University Canada West, Victor currently teaches MBA-level courses in Financial Management and Digital Transformation. He has also taught undergraduate courses including Information Systems for Manager, Human Resources Management and Organizational Behaviour.
Expertise and Experience
Victor brings over 18 years of leadership experience in financial management, SAP consulting and product management across banking, telecommunications and enterprise software industries. He has held roles at companies such as Air France, ABN Amro Bank, IBM Consulting, BlackBerry and SAP Canada. He is the founder of NovoGus Solutions, a consultancy firm providing enterprise solutions and advisory services to clients across North America.
Victor is an active contributor to the professional community. He has shared his expertise as a speaker at events such as Product Camp Vancouver, the UBC Product Management Training Program Panel and the Americas SAP User Group (ASUG) BC Chapter.
As an educator, Victor is known for his commitment to inclusive and real-world learning. Through his teaching journey, Victor has been driven by a single purpose – to make a meaning difference in the university community, and to create positive impacts in students’ lives. This purpose fuels Victor’s passion for educating students, fostering respectful relationships with students and challenging them to become self-directed learners. He has also served as a guest lecturer in Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia.
Beyond teaching, Victor has actively been involved in activities including course development and articulation and establishing institutional partnerships in promoting experiential learning. He has organized guest speaker sessions and career panels, served as departmental advisory member, mentored students for leadership roles, and coached and judged MBA case competition.
Victor’s dedication to teaching excellence has been recognized with the Sessional Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award, from University Canada West in Spring 2025. He is also the recipient of the Humanitarian Educator Award from EDUSN Digital International School in 2024, honoring his dedication and selfless contribution to the advancement of education in Myanmar, bringing hope and knowledge to countless educators, fostering resilience and growth in the face of unprecedented challenges.
