
Katarina Sabados
Katarina Sabados has a master’s degree in Journalism, Writing, and Media from the University of British Columbia.
She is currently a Sessional Faculty member at University Canada West teaching communications courses.
Expertise and Experience:
Katarina is an experienced investigative journalist, with six years of research and reporting experience internationally and in Canada. Most of her investigative work has focused on corruption, organized crime, supply chains and extractive industries, while her feature writing deals with diasporic identity. Her work has appeared in The World(PRX), THIS Magazine, The Tyee, NBC News, Canada’s National Observer, The Global Reporting Centre, The Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), The Global Investigative Journalism Network, and The Toronto Star.
Since 2016, she has been crafting copy and multimedia marketing material for boutique agencies, corporate brands, and non-governmental organizations.

Katarina is a co-author of the Empowerment Journalism Media Guide (2023).
