Dr. Farnoosh Farzaneh is the Interim Vice Chair of the Department of Quantitative Studies and an Assistant Professor at University Canada West. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), three master’s degrees in Engineering Management (MEM), Business Administration (MBA), and Philosophy of Management (MPhil), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (BSChE).

At UCW, Dr. Farzaneh teaches graduate-level courses in Project Management, Quantitative Reasoning and Analysis, Business Economics and Research Methods. Her teaching approach blends analytical precision with real-world application, fostering a learning environment where students are encouraged to lead strategically and think critically across disciplines.

Expertise and Experience

Dr. Farzaneh brings more than a decade of experience at the intersection of academia and industry. Her professional expertise lies in project and operations management within the manufacturing and heavy transportation sectors. She has led and consulted on cross-border industrial initiatives involving production design, supply chain optimization, stakeholder alignment and strategic execution. Her work spans Canada, the UAE, Germany and Spain, where she has managed complex project environments with a strong focus on measurable outcomes and cross-functional leadership.

In academia, she has held teaching and leadership roles at several Canadian and international institutions, contributing to curriculum development, program innovation and faculty mentorship. Her background in engineering, combined with her business acumen, gives her a unique edge in bridging technical knowledge with executive-level decision-making.

Publications and Scholarly Activity

Dr. Farzaneh’s research focuses on quantitative analysis, project leadership, risk governance and strategic management, particularly within operational and industrial contexts. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Mathematical Statistician and Engineering Applications, European Chemical Bulletin and the Journal of Advanced Management Science and several others. She has presented her research at international conferences and contributed to the development of advanced academic programs, including micro-credentials and new program and course initiatives at both the master's and bachelor's levels.

Dr. Farzaneh actively contributes to university governance and community building. She serves on the Academic Integrity Committee, the Course Development Committee, and the Inclusion, Equity, Diversity, and Indigenous (IEDI) Committee. She also chairs the Morale and Event Planning Committee and leads the Departmental Advisory Committee. Multilingual and globally engaged, she continues to support educational and youth-focused charitable initiatives aligned with her commitment to access, equity, and transformative learning.
