Dr. Sidaq

Dr. Sidaq holds a Ph.D. in Applied Management, a Master’s degree in Commerce (Honours) with a specialization in Finance and Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Honours in Business Economics). She is a Full-Time Continuing Track Faculty member at University Canada West, where she teaches courses in Finance and Organizational Behaviour. She believes in connecting ideas across disciplines and breaking down complex concepts to make learning approachable and engaging. Equity and fairness guide her teaching, ensuring every student feels seen, heard and capable.

Expertise and Experience

Dr. Sidaq’s teaching journey began early, and she now brings over 11 years of experience in higher education. She has taught and mentored more than 3,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students and has collaborated with over 600 colleagues and industry professionals through curriculum development, academic projects, and research supervision. Her areas of expertise include finance and marketing.

Publications and Scholarly Activity

Dr. Sidaq has contributed to over 24 academic publications and presentations, including journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Her research interests include sustainable consumer behaviour and ethical finance. She has also participated in over 10 national and international faculty development programs to stay current with evolving teaching practices.

She is a recipient of the CFA Institute Professor Scholarship, supporting her continued advancement in finance education.

Volunteer Work

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Sidaq volunteers with Animal Welfare and Care Services, a registered non-profit in both Canada and India. She supports their digital campaigns and online outreach initiatives to strengthen public awareness of animal protection causes.

Interests

Her interests include analyzing advertisements, exploring entrepreneurial strategies, cultural travel and turning to adventure sports as a way to push boundaries and overcome fears.
