Dr. Hamid Kazemi

Dr. Hamid Kazemi is an Associate Professor at University Canada West (UCW) with over two decades of experience in academia, research and corporate leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in Business (2010), an MA in Financial Management, and a BA in Business Management. Currently, he serves as the Senate member , HR Mentor and Course Lead in Talent Management at UCW and is a full-time faculty member.

Dr. Kazemi is a Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and holds the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) designation in British Columbia & Yukon from 2018. In addition to his academic roles, he is a Review Editor on the editorial board of Quantitative Sustainability ssessment in Frontiers in Sustainability.

With 25 years extensive experience in Business project management, business intelligence, corporate strategy and change management, He has held key leadership and academic roles across various educational institutions and scientific research centers, serving as a Researcher, Instructor, CFO and President. His expertise spans policy-making, strategic direction and external representation, contributing significantly to the advancement of research and organizational development. His research interests include business strategy planning and implementation and he has published extensively in distinguished academic journals. He has also made substantial contributions to various performance measurement systems in higher education and played a pivotal role in strategic planning for the National Research Center, showcasing his visionary skills and expertise in strategic management.

Dr. Hamid Kazemi is a dedicated educator who has taught a diverse range of graduate and undergraduate courses, including Human Resources Management, Talent Management, HR Strategy, Recruiting & Retaining Talent, Management & Employee Relations and Corporate Strategies. His extensive industry expertise informs his teaching approach, ensuring that his courses are grounded in practical applications and address real-world challenges. By integrating theoretical concepts with hands-on experience, Dr. Kazemi fosters an engaging learning environment that equips students with the skills needed to excel in their careers.

In addition to his academic contributions, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout his career. He previously served as President of the National Research Institute for Science Policy (NRISP) in Iran, a prominent institution under the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. His decade-long tenure as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at NRISP showcased his strategic vision and expertise in corporate strategy. With a strong background in program development, process optimization and strategic planning, Dr. Kazemi is committed to advancing practices that promote both academic excellence and industry innovation, reflecting his dedication to effective leadership and organizational success.
