
Dr. Ali Hassanlou
Dr. Ali Hassanlou has a PhD in Management from Carlton University and a Masters in Engineering specializing in Engineering Management from the University of Ottawa.
Expertise and Experience
Before joining UCW as sessional faculty in 2020, Dr. Hassanlou taught courses in Operations Management, Project Management, Quantitative Methods in Business Management, Business Statistics, and Business Mathematics at Kwantlen Polytechnique University (KPU). He was the chair of Business Quantitative Studies (BUQU) at KPU for six years (2011-2017). In addition, Dr. Hassanlou taught Operations Research and Operations Management at the graduate and undergraduate levels at Carleton University from 2001 to 2009. During 2001 to 2004, he managed Carleton University's MBA program in partnership with the Qeshm Institute of Higher Education in Iran. In 2005, Dr. Hassanlou accepted a senior management position at the Sprott School of Business as the Executive Director of Professional Programs where he helped the school in developing a reputation for offering executive education to the public and private organizations.
In addition to his teaching and academic work experience, Dr. Hassanlou worked as Research Council Officer at the National Research Council Canada in Ottawa, where he conducted research on various business projects. He also worked as consultant on business research projects for health Canada and Industry Canada.
