Blended learning delivery for the Fall term

Update on

University Canada West is planning to implement blended learning delivery for the Fall Term. This means that many students will have both online classes and limited on-campus learning. Students will do preparation work in the MyUCW Student Portal for their course before attending on-campus learning sessions with professors in our classrooms. UCW is introducing comprehensive safety measures as we prepare to welcome students back.

This workshop will focus on the current labour market and what has changed in job search techniques, as well as the economy. We will also share the key skills that will be in demand, and how you need to reflect this in your resume and cover letter. Virtual networking and interviewing are the new normal and we need to be prepared on the best etiquette when communicating online. In our current state, which industries have been identified as having large gaps of skilled workers, and which ones will take years to recover from the downturn?

We recommend getting familiar with Zoom and setting up a free Zoom account before the class begins.

Fear is one of our fundamental emotions. On one hand fear can play a positive role, warning us, protecting us and helping us stay on the right track. But fear can also be crippling, affecting our physical, mental and emotional well-being in many ways. Simple heartfulness techniques will be introduced in the session that progressively remove the root cause of fear and compliment the meditation practice which helps infuse courage and confidence. Guided relaxation and meditation will be offered as part of the session.
