The stage is set for one of the most anticipated events of the academic year—University Canada West’s Fall 2025 Convocation, taking place December 1–4 at Vancouver’s iconic Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Over four days and seven ceremonies, UCW will proudly celebrate the achievements of graduates representing more than 70 countries. Families, friends and supporters will gather to watch graduates cross the stage, receive their degrees and mark this milestone moment with the unforgettable cap toss.
UCW will also celebrate outstanding members of its community through a series of special honours. The inaugural Alumni Awards will be presented to Anju Varghese and Xavier Varghese in recognition of their remarkable achievements and continued contributions. The Teaching and Learning Awards will honour Dr. Rafia Faiz and Shereen Kotb for their exceptional dedication to student success and academic excellence. UCW will also confer Honorary Doctorates upon Gary Thandi and Margaret Mubanda, acknowledging their significant impact and leadership beyond the University. Rounding out the celebrations, Olatunji Awelenje will take the podium as Valedictorian, representing the graduating class with distinction and pride.
For those unable to attend in person, UCW will ensure no one misses out. All ceremonies will be streamed live on the University’s official YouTube channel, enabling loved ones from around the world to join the celebration in real time.
