Following a competitive selection process with the City of Vancouver & FIFA Vancouver 2026, 14 University Canada West (UCW) students have been officially selected to serve as volunteers for the upcoming FIFA festivities this summer.
This achievement is a testament to the calibre of our student body. With 44 total applicants from UCW, the City of Vancouver highlighted that the "volume and quality" of UCW candidates had a direct and meaningful impact on building out the official tournament team.
Our students will be serving in high-impact roles, including:
· Host City Last Mile: Acting as the face of Vancouver for international fans.
· FIFA Fan Festival: Powering the heart of the tournament’s public celebrations.
· Specialized Functional Areas: Providing critical operational support across the event’s ecosystem.
"At UCW, we strive to provide our students with opportunities that transcend the classroom. Seeing our students chosen to represent both our university and the City of Vancouver on the world stage is a proud moment for all of us,” said Amar Bajwa, Director of Community Engagement.
“Their dedication to community service and professional excellence is exactly what makes the UCW spirit so impactful."
As these 14 ambassadors prepare to step into their roles, UCW celebrates their initiative and the leadership they bring to one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events.
