Victoria Miles

Biography

Victoria Miles holds a Master of Arts in Leadership from Royal Roads University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from Simon Fraser University.

She teaches business communications at University Canada West.

Expertise and Experience

For more than 25 years, Victoria has helped people and organizations tell their stories. An award-winning communications leader in corporate and education communications, Victoria's professional specialties include media, public and government relations; communications project management; marketing and communications strategic planning; organizational branding, storytelling and identity development; writing and editing; and employee engagement. Her past employers include Capilano University, the North Vancouver School District, Citizens Bank of Canada, Vancity and The Loewen Group.

Victoria's teaching philosophy stems from her belief that in a complex world, the ability to promote awareness and understanding by leveraging a diversity of communication practices, theories, methods and media has never been more necessary or more valued.

She is also the author of 10 books for children, including Old Mother Bear (Chronicle, 2007); Magnifico (Fitzhenry & Whiteside, 2006) and Mimi Power and the I-don't-know-what (Tradewind, 2013).
