
Neda Ghandhari
Intro
Neda Ghandhari is a TESL-certified EAL instructor in Canada, holding a Master of Education from Thompson Rivers University, BC, Canada, and a Master’s in TESL/TEFL and a Bachelor’s in English Language Translation from Iran. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in English Language Teaching at the University of Tehran, Iran. At University Canada West, Neda teaches the University Access Program to C1-level students with a student-centered approach, emphasizing inclusivity, practical application and continuous improvement.
Expertise and Experience
Neda has extensive experience teaching ESL and EAP at various institutions, including University Canada West, Thompson Rivers University, DEA College, and the Sylvan Learning Centre. She has published articles on emotional intelligence, interlanguage pragmatic competence, and the link between language learning and dynamic assessment. Her research interests include Directed Motivational Currents, emotional intelligence in L2, grit in L2, integrating educational technologies and AI into ELT, and plurilingualism and pluriculturalism.
Awards
Neda received a certificate of appreciation for volunteering at the 2024 annual conference of the Association of BC TEAL, held at the University of British Columbia. She has presented at various conferences, including the 7th annual ELLT Research and Professional Development Colloquium at Thompson Rivers University and the First National Conference on Language and Education Studies in Iran.
Personal Interests
Outside of academic, she enjoys mediation, reading psychological books and listing to podcasts.
