Biography:

Marcio Silva holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Science from Farleigh Dickinson University (2018), a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (2007), an Executive MBA from COPPEAD-UFRJ (2007) and a Post Graduation Degree in Quality Management (2001). He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from 2000.

Marcio teaches Business Fundamentals at University Canada West.

Expertise and Experience

Marcio is a Senior Development Manager with the British Columbia Housing Management Commission, where he works on rental housing and affordable home ownership projects across British Columbia. Previously, he worked as a Project Manager for several developers in Brazil.

Marcio also served as a faculty member for the MBA program of Fundação Getúlio Vargas from 2009 to 2016, teaching over 40 courses to approximately 1,600 graduate students.

Publications and Scholarly Activity

While earning his master’s degree in Brazil, Marcio presented a paper discussing the cost of capital for multiple private developers in Brazil and the implications their stock prices inflicted on the Brazilian stock market.

Volunteering

Marcio is a Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports Association (VASS) snowboarding instructor, and he teaches snowboarding to students with disabilities at Grouse Mountain during winter.
