Biography:

Jasreen has a Master of Education and Master of Arts (English). She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching of English from English and Foreign Language University, Hyderabad which is equivalent to M. Phil English Language Teaching. She served as a Fulbright Fellow at University of California in Santa Barbara and has had the opportunity of studying Applied Linguistics, Discourse Transcription and Use of Technology in Second Language Acquisition.  

Jasreen currently teaches Writing For Media at University Canada West.  

Expertise and Experience 

Jasreen has been teaching in various capacities for the past 15 years. As part of her professional experience, she has taught academic skills to her students to help them succeed in their studies. Her expertise includes teaching Business Communications, Research and Composition, Creativity and Innovation, Cross-Cultural Communications, English Language Skills (LSRW). In the past, she was an English teacher trainer and has trained teachers from across the states of North India. Jasreen’s passion for, and commitment to, teaching only grows with every passing year. With the ever-growing complexities of the current educational landscape, she likes to broaden her perspective on the latest trends in the teaching and learning process and equips herself with the most recent methodologies and approaches in her field.  

Publications and Scholarly Activity 

Jasreen has received several grants for her own professional development fully funded by the Department of State, USA. She completed certificate courses in the field of Critical Thinking and Teacher Development from University of Oregon, American English Institute. She presented at the TESOL conference in the field of Technology and English Language Teaching and her core research areas include Second language Acquisition, Holistic Education, Adult Education, Use of Technology in Language Teaching and Communication Skills. Most recently she presented on ‘Bridging the gap between Digital Natives and Digital Immigrants’
