Dr. Ujal Ibrahim
Biography:
Dr. Ujal Ibrahim holds a PhD from the University of Utah, a master’s degree from Texas Christian University (TCU), and bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University (BYU), Utah. He also earned post-graduate CPA preparatory training from the University of British Columbia. He has more than 10 years of combined experience in academia and in the social development sector, especially in social business and social entrepreneurship. He teaches ethics, CSR and business environment in the MBA program.
Expertise and Experience
Before joining UCW, Dr. Ibrahim served as an Assistant Professor at the School of Business & Entrepreneurship and a Business Advisor to the ND Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Dickinson State University in North Dakota. As a Business Advisor, Dr. Ibrahim provided consultation and advising to existing small business owners and emerging entrepreneurs in the region. In the COVID-19 crisis, he assisted clients with strategies, marketing, and COVID-19 related funds.
Dr. Ibrahim served as a lecturer at North South University (NSU) School of Business & Economics – a leading business school in Bangladesh.
Dr. Ibrahim serves as a volunteer and mentor to several organizations including, the Yunus Centre – the global hub of social business activities – chaired by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, pioneer of microcredit and social business.
Research Focus
Entrepreneurship for the underserved, social justice, refugee resettlement and economic development, and social business.
