Dr. Shirley Tang

Biography:

Dr. Shirley Tang holds a PhD in Economics from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (CHINA 2004), a Master of Business Management from Lanzhou University (CHINA 1999). She participated EU innovation research program at Hull University (UK 2012) and was an academic visitor to UA (University of Alberta) in 2014.

She joined UCW in 2018 and she teaches graduate research methods, economics, and statistics in the MBA program.

Experience and Expertise

Before moving to Canada, Dr. Tang worked as a professor in the business school at East China University of Political Science and Law (Shanghai) where she taught international economics, international business and finance in both graduate and postgraduate programs for domestic students and international students from France and Kazakhstan. She has more than 15 years of professional work experience in research and teaching. Her research focuses on international technology transfer, innovation in SMEs and innovation policy.

Dr. Tang enjoys working with international students. She believes that every student’s unique contribution makes a difference to the diversity of her classes.
