Dr. S. Mosi Dorbayani

Biography:

Dr. Mosi Dorbayani earned his PhD from the University of Salford in Manchester, specializing in Cultural Diplomacy, Public Policy and Project Management. He also holds graduate qualifications in Business Economics from Harvard University, an MBA from Aston University, an LLM in International Law from the University of Sunderland and an MSc in Psychology from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom.

He conducted his postdoctoral research in Law and Cultural Diplomacy at the University of Lisbon, where he earned his Post Doctoral certificate from NOVA School of Law in Portugal. He is also a member of the International Bar Association – IBA Law.   

Dr. Dorbayani is pedagogically certified in Teaching Higher Education by Derek Bok Center - Harvard University, and is certified in Public Financial Management, by International Monetary Fund (IMF) and holds a number of designates including: Chartered Professional in Human Resources – CPHR, Chartered Manager – CIM; Chartered Psychologist – CPsychol, BPS.

At University Canada West, he teaches a range of graduate courses, including Leadership, Strategic Management, Intercultural Communication, Advanced Projects Leadership and HR–Talent Management within the Leadership and People Management Department. His teaching approach is practice‑based and learner‑centered, and he views his role as that of a facilitator who supports and accelerates student growth.

Expertise and Experience 

Dr. Dorbayani is a seasoned Canadian entrepreneur, executive adviser, policy architect, coach and consultant in international management and strategic leadership since 1992. His major international clients include KPMG, ThyssenKrupp, Sony-Ericson, MKB Bank and BNP Paribas. He is an integrative executive-scholar bridging consultancy, jurisprudence, counselling and cultural neuroscience—advancing reflective praxis across law, diplomacy, governance, economics, cognitive science and pedagogy. He believes in lifelong learning and always combines theory with practice. He is an award-winning author, scholar and a multiplatinum award-winning songwriter. 

As a Goodwill Ambassador to several UN‑affiliated organizations, Dr. Dorbayani advocates for the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Education (UDHR) and champions the principles of Cultural Diplomacy. He is an expert member of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at WAALM – School of Cultural Diplomacy in the UK, as well as at Pinnacle Business School, IFSI Institution in Hungary, where he attained full professorship. Dr. Dorbayani also represented the University of London in Central Europe, teaching courses and serving for several years as an examiner and assessor.
