Dr. Reena Alias

Dr. Reena Alias holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kerala, India. She has an MBA with a specialization in Human Resource Management and Marketing Management. She has successfully completed the BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program, a highly regarded credential in the field of adult education, from Vancouver Community College.

She is currently working as a full-time Term faculty in the MBA department of Leadership & People Management. She has experience in teaching business and HR courses at other institutions including Canadian college and BCIT in Vancouver. Her teaching interests include Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics, HR Strategy and Change Management.

Dr. Alias has over 14 years of experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate students. Entrusted with excellence in education, Dr. Alias focuses on facilitating intellectual growth in students, integrating academic expertise with practical insights. She has facilitated and supervised organizational projects that connect academics and industry for undergraduate and graduate courses.

Her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in fostering a student-driven, learner-centered and inclusive education focused on the holistic development of the learners. She has a strong background in developing teaching materials and course curriculum. She has been recognized with Excellent Guru award for teaching, and Best Mentor award for mentoring students and transforming them into talented, competent individuals rooted in ethical and moral values, upholding the integrity of the institution.

She also possesses 3 years of industrial experience in coordinating various national and international projects. This includes the coordination of social projects providing free treatment for economically backward heart patients and other international projects. She received award and appreciation for the effective co-ordination of the International Press Institute (IPI) World Congress and 50th General Assembly held at New Delhi, India.

Her areas of research interest include Emotional labor, Stress, Future of Work, Ethics in technology and AI in education, in which she has published articles/book chapters and presented papers in national/ international seminars.
