Dr. Mokhtar Tabari

Biography:

Dr. Mokhtar Tabari holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Calgary, a Master of Science in Economics from the Institute for Management and Planning Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Tabari is an Assistant Professor at University Canada West teaching economics.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Tabari's goal is to create an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment that helps students from different academic backgrounds and cultures develop a deep understanding and appreciation for economic theories and concepts in a way that welcomes their unique perspectives and experiences.

Expertise and Experience 

Dr. Tabari has extensive experience in post-secondary education. He was a researcher and teaching assistant at the Institute for Management and Planning Studies in Iran, and also held several roles at the University of Calgary, including teaching assistant, sessional instructor and graduate research assistant.

He also recently held a postdoctoral position at UBC Sauder School of Business, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

Publications and Scholarly Activity 

Dr. Tabari’s research interests include international economics, productivity growth, and energy and environmental economics. He also conducts research on the effects of new teaching methods, such as flipped classroom design and peer evaluation assessments, on student learning. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences and has published his research in prestigious journals such as Energy Economics.
