Dr. Daniel Oskooei
Dr. Daniel Oskooei is a seasoned and experienced academic and business leader with over 30 years of experience in international marketing, sales and business development across diverse industries, including IT, AI, IoT, Telecommunications, SaaS and Cybersecurity. Holding a Post Doctorate in Business Administration Post-DBA, a DBA in Entrepreneurship and an MBA in Marketing. Dr. Oskooei combines academic rigour with practical insights from a stellar career-spanning leadership role in global corporations such as IBM, Samsung Electronics, Nokia, Alcatel and Xiaomi. His professional certifications include Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) from the Digital Marketing Institute, Marketing Strategy: Competitive Intelligence from the Project Management Institute and HubSpot Marketing Certification, among others. At University Canada West, Daniel teaches MRKT-621: Marketing Management and MRKT-627: International Marketing. His teaching philosophy emphasizes integrating real-world, practical applications with theoretical frameworks, fostering critical thinking and strategic decision-making to prepare students for dynamic business environments. Dr. Oskooei fosters a collaborative, innovative learning atmosphere where students are equipped to meet modern business challenges. Meanwhile, he conducted outstanding teaching methods at Nokia-IBM and Samsung International Academy about Business Expansion, Sales and Marketing for executives and business owners in the MEA region.

Dr. Oskooei’s career reflects a unique blend of scholarly achievements and real-world expertise. His role at UCW includes teaching MBA courses in Marketing Management and International Marketing. He emphasizes critical thinking, data-driven decision-making, and the application of advanced marketing strategies in global business environments. Previously, he held pivotal roles such as Regional Director of Sales at IBM, where he grew annual sales to $80 million and General Manager at Medicom Corporate in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) industry, leading the company to become the top market shareholder in emergency medical services. His earlier roles include Senior National Sales Manager at Nokia International, managing sales channels across 11,000 entities and Head of IT Department at Samsung Electronics. Daniel’s consulting work spans global brands like BMW, P&G, Unilever, Sephora, Ogilvy and Nokia, focusing on market research, strategy and business development.
Publications and Scholarly Activity
Dr. Oskooei has also made notable research contributions to academia through his development of the Consumer Behaviour Spectrum Model (CBSM). This model integrates elements of behavioural economics, Maslow's Hierarchy, and hedonic consumption to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding contemporary consumer motivations and behaviours. His upcoming research and publications in top-tier academic journals will further establish him as a thought leader in consumer behaviour and marketing strategy. He authored a 2023 white paper, Advanced Radio Frequency (RF) Technologies in Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS), shared with BC Trade Commissioners.
