Dr. Belay Gaga

Biography:

Dr. Belay Gaga has a PhD in Plant Genetics from Colegio De Postgraduados, Mexico, and a master’s degree in Agronomy (with Honors) from Kishinev Agricultural Institute (Former Soviet Union).

Dr. Gaga is currently an Associate Professor at University Canada West teaching Project Management and Operations Management.

He strongly believes in providing theoretical knowledge and sharing practical industry experiences with his students.

Expertise and Experience

Dr. Gaga has more than 24 years of professional experience in research, training, project coordination, management and leadership. From 2005 to 2015, Dr. Gaga served two organizations of the United Nations – the World Food Program (WFP) and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO). He worked as Program Officer, Emergency Coordinator, and Senior Field Program Coordinator, and his last position with the UN was as Deputy FAO Representative in North Korea. He starting teaching at UCW January 2019.
