Abhinav Tomer
Biography:
Abhinav Tomer has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Operation Management from Vancouver Island University and a Master of Science in International Business from the University of Hertfordshire (UK).
He is currently a Sessional Faculty member at University Canada West and teaches various business courses, including Business Environment, Ethics and Strategy, International Business, Introduction to Business, Operations Management and Small Business Management.
Abhinav actively creates an interactive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation and the practical application of academic concepts to real-time industrial issues. He teaches both undergraduate and MBA programs, providing competency-based education to a diverse group of students.
Abhinav is a dedicated educator, passionate about sharing his knowledge and industry experience with students to help them succeed in their academic and professional endeavours.

Abhinav is an experienced professional with a diverse background in supply chain management, business leadership, and teaching. He is known for his expertise in Business Ethics, Operations Management, Supply chain, and Leadership, with a proven track record of driving profitability and achieving operational excellence.
With over 13 years of experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry, aerostructure in the defense sector and BC Public Service, Abhinav has played a vital leadership role in the supply chain's growth and business planning. He has successfully collaborated with local and global vendors to set up Greenfields projects, managed production houses, implemented new products and developed strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. His expertise includes resource scheduling, coaching team members, union agreements, contracts management, performance improvements, capacity planning/scheduling and strategic decision-making.
Abhinav believes in fostering a student-centric teaching philosophy. He believes that each student has unique strengths and learning styles, and it is his responsibility as an educator to understand and cater to these individual needs. He aims to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, share ideas and engage in critical thinking. Abhinav emphasizes the practical application of theoretical knowledge, encouraging students to connect classroom concepts with real-world scenarios.

In addition to his professional achievements, Abhinav is actively involved in community work and supporting charitable organizations. He has volunteered with the BC Cancer Society and local food banks, contributing to the well-being of his community.
