Safety & Security
UCW is committed to keeping our campus community healthy and safe.
Our Health and Safety Office works proactively to develop policies and guidelines that follow WorkSafeBC standards and uphold our community values.
Resources
Campus Support Ambassadors (CSAs)
UCW's Campus Support Ambassadors (CSAs) are integral to maintaining the efficient operation and welcoming environment of our campus. Easily identifiable by their bright orange T-shirts, CSAs are dedicated to providing timely and effective support to students, faculty and staff. Their responsibilities encompass IT assistance, facilities management and general support inquiries, ensuring that the campus runs seamlessly.
Communicable Disease Prevention Plan (CDPP)
UCW is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all community members. In alignment with the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), post-secondary public health guidance and WorkSafeBC requirements, the CDPP outlines preventative measures.
A communicable disease is an illness caused by an infectious agent or its toxic product that can be transmitted in a work environment from one person to another (i.e., influenza, COVID-19, norovirus). Additional information about specific communicable diseases can be found at HealthLinkBC.
The World Health Organization declared that COVID-19 no longer qualifies as a global emergency.
UCW requires that all employees and students continue to follow the CDPP in their daily activities to reduce the risk of transmitting communicable diseases within our community.
The CDPP is reviewed regularly. The Health and Safety Office continues to monitor public health information and updates safety measures as required.
