The latest Salary Survey from Mason Frank International shows that 90% of Salesforce professionals said they believe that years of experience with Salesforce is essential to increasing your earning potential.

Salesforce is an online system for customer relationship management (CRM). It gives all departments within a company, including marketing, sales, commerce and service, a shared view of their customers with one integrated CRM platform. It allows companies to streamline their sales and marketing operations. It is used by companies of all sizes, from small to Fortune500, and has become the #1 CRM platform in the world.

While using Salesforce is easy, administering it is more complicated, and many companies require certified experts who are familiar with the platform and understand how to customize it for their unique needs.

The company offers a series of credentials. Certifications professionals can earn by completing additional Salesforce training in several different areas. According to the Mason Frank International survey, an independent look into the market trends and salaries within the Salesforce universe, 43% of respondents experienced an increase in their salary after earning a certification, 77% hold at least one certification, 75% of permanently employed Salesforce professionals experienced a salary increase when they last changed jobs and 76% of survey respondents said they are content with their career progression.

And 86% said they are currently employed on a permanent full-time basis, 1% are working permanent part-time, 9% are working on a freelance or contract basis, 4% are unemployed and 1% are on a sabbatical/career break.

As for education among Salesforce professionals, 29% have a master’s degree and 53% have a bachelor’s degree, 3% have an associate degree and 2% have a PhD. Of those who completed a degree, the top 10 fields of study were:

  • Information Technology – 33%
  • Computer Science – 30%
  • Business Administration – 28%
  • Software Engineering – 12%
  • Management – 11%
  • Engineering – 10%
  • Economics – 8%
  • English – 6%
  • Languages – 6%
  • Finance – 5%

Salesforce, along with Tableau, IBM Design Thinking and the Digital Marketing Institute, has been incorporated into the Master of Business Administration program courses at UCW as the university continues its evolution to becoming Vancouver’s tech-business university.

Salesforce has been incorporated into UCW’s MBA degree program through the Marketing 621 (Marketing Management) course.
