Student Experience Survey FAQs
What is the UCW Student Experience Survey (SES)?
The SES is comprised of two pan-institutional surveys – the Canadian University Survey Consortium (CUSC) survey for undergraduate students and the Canadian Graduate and Professional Student Survey (CGPSS) for graduate students. Conducting both surveys simultaneously will let UCW collect feedback from the entire Winter 2025 Term student population.
Why is UCW participating in CUSC and CGPSS?
CUSC and CGPSS will help UCW evaluate student perspectives and satisfaction with UCW, teaching, support and services. Our goal is to derive actionable insight and help improve the student experience. We will also get an opportunity to see how UCW fares in comparison to our peer institutions.
When is the survey being conducted?
The survey starts on January 28, 2025 and closes on March 18, 2025. Students will receive an email invitation with a unique survey link, which they can complete any time they wish before the survey closes. Students may only complete the survey once and the estimated completion time is up to 20 minutes, depending on how long they take to review their responses.
Who will be participating in the survey?
All UCW students who are enrolled and completing courses at the time of the survey start date (January 28) will be invited to participate.
How will the survey be distributed to students?
Graduate students will received an invitation for the survey from surveys@ucanwest.ca. The same email address will also send reminders between January 28 to March 18. Emails will be sent to students’ myucwest.ca inboxes.
Where will be the results be shared?
We aim to facilitate a wide distribution of the results by UCW Institutional Accountability as well as presentations to key groups such as faculty and program leadership.
Who should I contact if I have questions about the survey or UCW’s participation in the survey?
Please contact Adrian Mitescu Director, Institutional Accountability (IA), and the IA team at surveys@ucanwest.ca.
