Tara Clowes has over 20 years of experience in accounting, financial management and strategic leadership. Her work spans the private and public sectors, where she has managed large teams and complex financial operations, demonstrating her strategic leadership skills and commitment to excellence in financial management.

Expertise and Experience

Tara’s professional experience is primarily as a senior or executive leader in the public sector and professional accounting practice. Through those roles, she has had responsibility for budgets upwards of $200 million, large teams of employees, accounting compliance, strategic leadership and asset management.

Tara is an experienced instructor in accounting, tax and finance, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. She has taught at UCW since 2022 and has also worked with Vancouver Island University, North Island College, and through the CPA professional education program. A regular presenter in academic accounting forums, Tara's research focuses on accounting and tax competency development.
