Biography:

Max Furrier is an enthusiastic and motivated professor with a PhD in Physical Geography, who believes in the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing to create a positive impact in a rapidly changing world.

Expertise and Experience

Max Furrier has more than 15 years of teaching experience which has provided him with the knowledge and skills required to be effective in the classroom. He has taught core courses in the fields of Physical Geography, Ecology, Climatology, Sedimentology, Geoarchaeology and Urban Studies and has expertise in geospatial technologies and GIS.

While leading large and small classes across different levels of undergraduate and graduate programs, Max has seen the importance of keeping students proactive and works to integrate research into their learning experience to maximize their success.

Having wide exposure to international environments and being actively involved in lab and field-based work has enhanced his ability to explore practical issues beyond the boundaries of environmental sciences. Max believes that the sciences are not irredeemably divided; therefore, bridges should be built to connect them.
