
Marc Legacy
Biography:
Marc Legacy is an accomplished academic with degrees from both the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. He holds a BA in Philosophy, a Diploma in Adult Education, an MEd in Philosophy of Education and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction.
Marc’s research focuses on curricular implications for reducing violence against women in various socio-legal contexts. He is also interested in supporting non-traditional graduate students, improving student success and retention and exploring flexible and blended learning options.
Recently, Marc has been studying men’s accountability for violent behaviour. Looking ahead, he plans to learn from women who lead community services and investigate the legal implications of their leadership.
Expertise and Experience
Prior to his employment at UCW, Marc was the Public Legal Education Manager at the Justice Education Society, where he oversaw the development of law-related, Indigenous and social studies across BC’s New Curriculum and the inclusion of ‘legal capability’ throughout the Core Competencies.
