
Lilya Shienko
Biography:
Lilya Shienko is currently a PhD student in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. She is a graduate of the CMM Fellowship (hosted by CMM Institute and Columbia University). She has earned her Master of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Adler University in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Business Studies from MacEwan University (2017). She has participated in various research initiatives at Adler University.
Expertise and Experience
Lilya has more than two years of experience as a graduate research assistant and teaching assistant at Adler University. Her coursework, awards and research have included a heavy emphasis on social justice, which served a role in forming her teaching and research content.
She believes that a good teacher cannot inspire learning without being a lifelong learner. She strives to utilize her passion for research to engage students to pique their interest in contemporary social issues that they can critically reflect on and actively discuss in class.

Lilya is currently interested in research concerning how technology (mainly social media) affects student and employee well-being and performance. Other research interests include, but are not limited to, bullying, trauma, mental health in organizations, cross-cultural adjustment in organizations, mindfulness, burnout, and the effects of stress on performance and cardiac health.
