Dr. Mohsen Ghodrat

Biography:

Dr. Mohsen Ghodrat is a highly accomplished engineer and scholar in the field of control systems, machine learning and natural language processing. He received his Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Shiraz University in Iran, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. Dr. Ghodrat continued his academic pursuits, ultimately earning his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta in 2018.

After earning his PhD, Dr. Ghodrat pursued his research career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Alberta’s Department of Electrical Engineering from 2019 to 2021. During this time, he focused on developing optimization and control algorithms for large-scale industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

Expertise and Experience

In 2021, Dr. Ghodrat joined Serious Labs as a Control System and Machine Learning Engineer, where he worked on a diverse range of projects that spanned machine learning, control systems, robotics, concurrent engineering, agile development, human research, VR simulators and team dynamics. His contributions led to the development of novel approaches for mitigating cybersickness using motion cueing algorithms and implementing recommendation systems to optimize learning pathways to competence.

Dr. Ghodrat became a part of Silvacom in 2023 and is focused on identifying and prioritizing machine learning and natural language processing opportunities that support customer relationship management goals. As part of his responsibilities, Dr. Ghodrat provides analytical assistance to stakeholder relationship management platforms, including database maintenance, designing and building pipelines for predictive models and working with the sales team to develop and deploy end-to-end scalable machine learning and deep learning solutions.

Dr. Ghodrat is also responsible for leading the design and implementation of data acquisition and preprocessing pipelines for large volumes of unstructured text data. He is an expert in developing the most recent text mining and natural language processing algorithms to classify and summarize customer feedback and communication data. His contributions to the field of engineering and computer science have been significant, and his research has resulted in numerous publications in high-impact journals and conference proceedings.
