Biography:

Dr. Mehmet Yalcin Parmaksiz holds a PhD in Business Administration with a Marketing specialization from Yildiz Technical University. He earned his MBA in 2005 from Istanbul Technical University and Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2001 from Sakarya University.

His teaching philosophy concentrates on remodeling the way students think. He not only equips students with the fundamental knowledge, but also engages them in a conversation and learning atmosphere that leads to an advanced level of thinking.

Expertise and Experience

Dr. Parmaksiz has more than eight years of academic teaching experience. He was previously a visiting researcher at Ontario Technical University Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities from 2020 to 2021, where he researched the effect of COVID-19-related digital communications. He also taught Marketing Strategies and Redesigning Marketing, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Social Marketing courses in-class and online to postgraduate students from all over the world for more than eight years at Bahcesehir University.

As a seasoned marketing professional, Dr. Parmaksiz has spent 18 years working on many B2B and B2C businesses such as entertainment, fashion, e-commerce, FMCG, travel, aviation, construction and automation engineering. He worked as the country manager of the US-based Boxoffice.com and France-based Webedia in Istanbul and Paris for nine years. He has also worked as an independent consultant, helping many brands and leading their growth marketing efforts.

Publications and Scholarly Activity

Dr. Parmaksiz's research interests focus on digital communications, online consumer behaviour and misbehaviour, and entertainment marketing. He has published academic papers in international journals and attended academic conferences.
