
Dr. Marziyeh Yousefi
Biography:
Dr. Marziyeh Yousefi holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Victoria, an MA in Teaching English as A Second Language (TESL) from Alzahra University and a BA in TESL from Azad University.
Dr. Yousefi currently teaches COMM 207 Visual Communication in Mass Media, COMM 102 Mass Media and Society, COMM 497 Communication Capstone 1, ENG 100 Academic Writing and ENG 102 Critical Analysis and Writing at University Canada West.
Expertise and Experience
During the last decade, Dr. Yousefi has taught numerous courses in a variety of academic contexts, including Communications, Writing, General Studies and EAP courses. She is proficient in face-to-face, online and hybrid teaching settings and has taught students from many backgrounds. Dr. Yousefi has extensive experience in curricula planning, training material development and coordination and the use of communication technology in institutions like the University of Victoria, UCW, BCIT, Canadian College and Alexander College.
Dr. Yousefi achieves quality research-informed teaching using three main principles – active learning, continuous feedback and inclusion and equity.
