Dr. Liiza Gie

Liiza’s profession is Human Resources (Doctor of Technologiae, Magister Technologiae, Baccalaureus Technologiae, and National Diploma all in Human Resources Management) practiced in the business of higher education.

Expertise and Experience

Liiza’s 21-year HR academic career includes teaching and learning, community engagement, research, quality assurance and academic management all acquired through various job roles from lecturer; with two acting secondments as Manager of Academic Advancement, Planning and Quality Assurance, and Teaching and Learning Coordinator; to academic Head of Department: Human Resources Management (HRM) in the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. In her current role as Associate Professor in the Leadership and People Management department at University Canada West, her focus is on contributing to international scholarship and skills development. As Liiza holds under- and postgraduate qualifications in HRM with a Higher Diploma in Higher Education and Training, she is actively involved in curriculum design, postgraduate supervision, research publications and article reviews, with her areas of specialisation in human resource development, labour relations and employee wellness.
