Dr Juan Felipe Hernandez Gomez holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the University of British Columbia. With a M.A. in Public History from the University of Massachusetts and a B.A. in History, Cum Laude, from the University of Florida, Dr. Gomez’s offers a diverse background and perspective to his classrooms. On top of his degrees, Juan is also a TESL Certified Teacher and has obtained his Product Management Certification.

Expertise and Experience

While completing his PhD from the University of British Columbia, he researched the history and politics of Latin American mineral extraction during literature in the 20th Century.

Juan has worked for UBC delivering courses such as HIST 405, Diplomacy and Conflict in the Middle East (twice), HIST 102, World History from 1500 to the Twentieth Century and ANTH 100 Introduction to Anthropology. Currently, he teach Political Science courses at LaSalle College, Vancouver.

Before arriving in Canada, he trained as a Public Historian and did coursework on European and American History while obtaining his M.A. at the University of Massachusetts.
