Dr. Ahmed Ali, PEng

Dr. Ahmed Ali has a PhD in Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering from Loughborough University (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Power Engineering from Cairo University (Egypt). He also has an Applied Data Science and Big Data Diploma from Toronto Institute of Data Science and Technology.

Dr. Ali currently teaches Business Analytics and Machine Learning courses at UCW.

Expertise and Experience 

Dr. Ali has a strong combination of both academic and industrial experiences. His academic experience spans from teaching, research and development, supervision to curriculum design and delivery. In addition to his diverse academic and professional experience, he has rich multi-cultural experience as he has worked in countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America. He is currently a practicing data science consultant providing data science and machine learning solutions to companies in different industries. Dr. Ali has more than a decade of professional experience as a licensed professional engineer in the oil and gas and power generation industries in Canada. 

He also has more than a decade of academic experience. He has held faculty positions at Petronas University of Technology (UTP) in Malaysia and at Akhbar Elyom Academy in Egypt. Dr. Ali was a visiting faculty at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, with the Mechanical Engineering Department. He was also a University Teacher at Loughborough University in the UK. 

Dr. Ali has taught several fundamental and specialized courses in Engineering, Business and Data Science, and supervised PhD, MSc and graduation projects.
