Biography:

Cassie Savoie received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminology at St. Thomas University in 2004. She is currently studying for her Provincial Instructor’s Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching at Vancouver Community College.

She has been a member of the UCW family since July 2020. She believes in a strong community culture and strives to create a positive work and learning space for the UAP Department faculty and students.

Cassie speaks English, French and Korean.

Experience and Expertise

Cassie has worked in the international education sector for over 15 years. She has 10 years of experience from across the globe in South Korea as a curriculum developer, head teacher, and teacher trainer. Prior to UCW, she was the Academic Manager at ILAC International College, where she was the designated Senior Education Administrator and responsible for daily college operations, scheduling, student and faculty success, and curriculum quality assurance. Her industry career experience spans the healthcare, retail and sales industries, where she managed large groups of hospital volunteers, and was the assistant manager of high-volume retail store.

Awards

Cassie has been awarded the Teacher of the Year and Certificate of Teaching Excellence awards at two institutions in South Korea and has been recognized for her mentorship and teacher support roles here in Canada. She is also the holder of a TESOL Diploma with Distinction.
