Biography:

A graduate of Carleton University’s journalism program, Carla Shore is also currently pursuing an MA in Environmental Education and Communications at Royal Roads University. She also has a Diploma in French Language and Literature from the Universite’ de Bourgogne and a BA in Journalism from Carleton University.

Carla, APR FCPRS, teaches in UCW’s undergraduate program focusing on communications.

Carla is an award-winning, dynamic public relations specialist and principal of C-Shore Communications Inc., a full-service public relations consultancy.

She was the director of communications for the Cohen Commission of Inquiry into the Decline of the Sockeye Salmon on the Fraser River and director of communications for the Vancouver School District.

Expertise and Experience

Carla’s experience includes communications planning, media relations, media training, social media, facilitation and speech writing, and she is particularly adept at plain-language writing.

Carla’s career in Ontario and BC has included work with universities, financial institutions, medical companies, school boards, environmental groups, government departments, software companies, large corporations, entrepreneurs and non-profit groups.

She was a Board Member of Green Teams of Canada between 2013 and 2015.

As a volunteer, she served as chair of Vancouver Farmers Markets and as a director of LOCO BC. She has taught public relations and communications at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Simon Fraser University.

She has worked with organizations in education, health, finance, technology, sustainability, consumer products, construction insurance and at all levels of government.
