
Behzad Amali
Biography:
Behzad Amali has a Master of Education degree in Teaching English from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Film Studies from Brock University in Ontario, Canada.
Behzad is fluent in English and Persian (Farsi) and has upper intermediate level of communicative competence in Spanish.
He is currently a Sessional Faculty member at University Canada West teaching Academic Writing and Critical Thinking courses.
Expertise and Experience
Behzad is as passionate about learning as he is about teaching and his extensive travels have helped him gain cross-cultural sensitivity for the many ethnically diverse classes he instructs.
Over the last 15 years, he has taught post-secondary level Academic Writing, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Business Communication, and English Proficiency Test Preparation classes in Vancouver, Toronto, Mexico City, and the Middle East. He has instructed classes at UBC, SFU, FDU and TWU.
Behzad’s research areas of interest include critical literacies/pedagogies, language and cognition, neurolinguistics, and language and identity.
