Adriana Lozjanin
Biography:
Adriana Lozjanin is an Assistant Professor teaching political science, human rights and criminology courses at University Canada West. Adriana joined UCW as a Sessional Instructor in 2022 and was later appointed Assistant Professor in 2024.
She holds a Master of Laws in International Law from the University College London (UCL), a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia (UBC), and a Bachelor of Arts from UBC.
Adriana is fluent in English, Croatian and Serbian.
Expertise and Experience
Adriana’s main research interests are the development of jus cogens principles in international human rights law, social movements in the Western Balkans and environmental justice. Her Master’s thesis focused on derogation from the principle of non-refoulement.
She has over a decade of experience working with adult learners and has worked in on-campus, online and in blended learning environments. She has additionally worked as a Senior Content Developer, designing instructional content and writing published guidebooks for critical analysis and reasoning for students preparing for the Medical School Admissions Test. She has over a decade of experience in the test preparation industry, including for the Law School Admissions Test and College Board’s SAT exam.
