Tara Immell
Biography:
Tara Immell is currently a PhD candidate in Mathematics Education at Simon Fraser University. She holds a Master of Sustainable Financial Agriculture from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Computer Science and Mathematics from Northwestern University (1991).
Her professional career is in the areas of financial and environmental risk management, including current efforts to move towards zero plastic waste in Canada.
For more than 20 years, she worked with global companies advising corporate clients on their international business and risk management solutions.
Tara teaches quantitative classes in the MBA program at UCW.
Expertise and Experience
Tara’s experience includes helping clients to become financially literate - from personal to corporate to multinational.
Tara’s work in North America, Europe and Asia has been focused on financial risk management at the global level with an investment bank and has recently turned to entrepreneurial businesses in BC, especially those in the agri-food industry selling at farmers’ markets.
She has taught finance and green business management at Simon Fraser University, the University of British Columbia and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
