Looking for a great bite to eat? Whether it’s celebrating a successful end of term or needing more than just a simple snack to fuel a study session, there’s no shortage of good food around University Canada West’s campuses.

In fact, there’s no shortage of good food period in Greater Vancouver, but here we have narrowed it down to eight restaurants located within walking distance of campuses.

An Italian restaurant located across the street from Vancouver House Campus West Building. It is known for its authentic Italian cuisine, focusing on traditional dishes and fresh, high-quality ingredients. The restaurant offers an exquisite yet unpretentious Italian dining experience, featuring all the classics you would expect from Italy. Autostrada Osteria typically emphasizes simplicity and flavour, inspired by the diverse regional cuisines of Italy. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, reflecting the classic Italian osteria atmosphere.

Monzo Burger

1401 Granville St.

Located in in the same space as Vancouver House Campus’ West Building, Monzo offers delicious gourmet burgers as well as chicken or veggie burger options, plus a side of fries or onion rings.

Linh Café

1428 Granville St.

Located in the Vancouver House East Building, this restaurant blends French and Vietnamese culinary traditions. It offers an array of dishes that reflect its dual heritage, from classic French steak frites and robust espresso to Vietnamese pho, or in the case of banh mi a bit of both.

Cazba Restaurant

1103 Davie St.

Those who attended the UCW’s Nowruz night will be familiar with this Iranian restaurant. Cazba features all the Iranian classics, from kebabs to khoresh to rice dishes, classically done and generously portioned and good luck leaving room for dessert.

Homa Persian & Mediterranean Restaurant

548 Seymour St.

The former Baghdad Café has now crossed the border to Iranian cuisine and is now Homa. Most of the old favourites, from falafels to shawarmas, are still on the menu, but new ownership has added some Persian classics, such as soft, pillowy kebabs of beef and delicious chicken. Great for takeout or sit-in.

Ramen Gojiro

Usually has a long line-up and for a good reason. The restaurant makes Jiro-style ramen, known for its thicker, chewier noodles, which are homemade and more robust, flavourful broths.

Kokoro Tokyo Mazesoba

A popular dining destination known for its flavourful Japanese mazesoba. Mazesoba is a hearty, brothless noodle dish that comes with different topping options, including pork, fish or tofu. Diners can size up their portions and staff will bring you a dollop of rice to help mop up the leftovers.

Chronic Tacos

The West Cordova location is one of two Canadian spots of the US Mexican food chain. It’s known for its absolutely massive burritos packed with meat, beans, rice and other fillings, plus tacos or bowls.
