University Canada West (UCW) President and Vice-Chancellor Brock Dykeman has announced his retirement.

President Dykeman joined University Canada West as VP Academic in September of 2016 and became the President and Vice-Chancellor in 2019.

Before that, President Dykeman held various positions at post-secondary institutions, including Dean of the Faculty of Management and of the Faculty of International Education at Vancouver Island University and Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Thompson Rivers University.

President Dykeman also led UCW through unprecedented times, the global COVID-19 pandemic. Under his strong leadership, UCW managed to successfully move online, keep our community safe and continue to grow despite many challenges.

“On behalf of the UCW Board of Governors, I would like to thank President Brock Dykeman for his hard work and dedication to University Canada West,” said Cyndi McLeod, Chair of the UCW Board of Governors.

“Brock provided exceptional leadership during a time of phenomenal growth for the University. He is to be commended for such strong leadership at a pivotal time in the development of UCW.”

President Dykeman is set to officially retire on October 14.
