University Canada West is excited to announce that it has established a UCW chapter of Startup Grind.

Established in 2010, Startup Grind is now the world’s largest community of startups, founders, innovators and creators. It aims to give startups the education and opportunities needed to build, grow and scale their companies through local events, conferences, and student and investor programs.

Founded in Silicon Valley, Startup Grind now has more than 600 chapters in more than 125 countries.

UCW’s chapter is led by Chapter Director and UCW professor Alexander Sakharov, who teaches entrepreneurship in the MBA program.

UCW recently hosted its first Startup Grind event for students. The free virtual event, First Steps to Start a Startup, featured Jake McEwan, a startup founder and CEO, mentor and Managing Director at Gracorp, a real estate development company.
