Funmilola Iyiola has a Master of International Business (MIB) from Griffith University, Australia, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Diploma in Advanced Management (AMD) from the Management College of Southern Africa, South Africa and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Administration from the Polytechnic, Ibadan, Nigeria.

She also holds several other professional certifications, including the Credential of Readiness (CORe) from Harvard Business School Online (Business Analytics, Financial Accounting and Economics for Managers), Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and KPU Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW).

Funmilola is working towards completing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree, specializing in Project Management from Walden University, USA.

Funmilola is passionate about teaching and strives to provide her students with a meaningful and engaging learning experience. Her teaching philosophy centres on creating a collaborative environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through participation, encouragement and real-life application, Funmilola ensures her lessons are as current and applicable as possible.

In the classroom, one of her goals is to assist students in discovering their passions, making use of their potential and learning the necessary skills to be successful in their various careers and endeavours.

Expertise and Experience

Funmilola has more than 15 years of experience in industry and three years in academia. She was a Learning Centre instructor at Reeves College in Alberta and currently teaches Project Management at University Canada West. In addition, she is a sessional faculty member at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is the Ethics and Research Grants Compliance Officer at Trinity Western University’s Office of Research.

Funmilola is a dedicated Research Administrator, an experienced Project Management Program and curriculum designer, an Agile Coach, a Business Analyst and a Business and Project Management Consultant. Her research interests include employee knowledge retention, knowledge transfer, knowledge sharing, human resources and personnel management in project and agile project management.

Volunteer Activity

Funmilola has made significant contributions to the Project Management Institute community through her volunteer work as Board Support, PMP Exam Study Group Facilitator and PMI-ACP Exam Study Group Facilitator for the PMI Northern Alberta Chapter (PMI-NAC) in Edmonton.

She currently volunteers as the Director of Records Management for the PMI-NAC and is the Outreach-Educational for the PMI Canadian West Coast Chapter (PMI-CWCC) in Vancouver. Her dedication to professional development and her willingness to give back to the community demonstrate her commitment to excellence in all aspects of her work.

  • Recipient of a certificate in recognition of successful completion of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) training program and committed to further personal development at the NSLS, Walden University Chapter, 2021
  • Recipient of a certificate in recognition of high scholastic attainment by the International Honor Society in Business at the Delta Mu Delta Nu Rho Chapter, Walden University, 2021.
